How To Do A Quotes Page In Your Journal
I absolutely love writing down thoughts and sayings. Maybe you do to? They can be a well-written lyric, a piece of prose, inspiring sacred text, or timely words that you read or heard at just the right moment.
Hello Fellow Journalers!🖊️📖
I recently saw a social media post on quotes pages in journals. And I ❤️🔥 it.
I absolutely love writing down thoughts and sayings. Maybe you do to? They can be a well-written lyric, a piece of prose, inspiring sacred text, or timely words that you read or heard at just the right moment.
This specific post gave credence to dedicating an entire page of your journal to your inspiring words.
The following are visual tips and tricks for doing quotes pages in your journal.
Take up the entire page
Like above, spread out your words and use the entire page for your quote. Do you have calligraphy skills? Now's the time to show off. If not, no worries. Stickers, stamps, and plain peasant writing does the job just fine. After all, it's your journal
Decorate the Page
You have the quote down, now what else can you do? Bold the letters or certain words that hit hard. Highlight words that call to your heart. Use artistic elements around the quote and frame it accordingly.
Theme the Page
Does the quote also call to a theme? Or do you want to do a page of art regardless of whether or not it connects to the quote? I'm loving this colored tape, with wheel elements and the words Forever & Always.
Make An Entire Journal of Quotes
Have you branched out into separating your journals by project or topic? I've done this and it has been so helpful to organize my thoughts and intention down in one particular journal and style. I also have done commonplace journals, where everything tends to go into it. A quotes journal can be just what it sounds like: quotes that moved you, and a book you created, dedicating the page to them.
Use the Quote Strategically
Maybe a quotes page can be a great divider between sections of your journal? I see it all the time on Instagram entire pages to help divide between months, using the page for November and decorate accordingly. Why not do a November themed quote?
In fact, for my members, I have topic-based quotes for the months of the year, available for free!
Hopefully this inspired you to incorporate and commemorate those thoughts and sayings that really struck you in the feels, so you can remember it years to come.
What's your favorite quote? I would love to know. Please sign up and comment—you'll also get free journal prompts monthly as part of the Monthly 311 Club!
